Box Score - Game 2
ST. DAVIDS, PA - Looking to get the season kicked off on the right foot, things didn't quite go exactly as planned Tuesday evening.
The Crimson Eagles fell in back-to-back games to the Eastern University, succumbing to the host Eagles by scores of 8-2 and 13-2.
PBU surrendered five runs during the second inning of the first game, digging a hole that proved insurmountable to overcome for the visitors. The Crimson Eagles managed just five hits while whiffing on five different occasions and struggled to garner run production for the pitching staff.
Unfortunately, game two of the double header started out even worse.
After allowing a solo score in the opening stanza, PBU was blasted with a seven run inning, digging an early 8-0 hole. Two scores for the Crimson Ealges in the fourth proved to be strictly aesthetic in nature as Eastern would manage four additional runs in the bottom half of the inning to pull out the 13-2 triumph.
Caroline DeHart paced PBU with two hits and one run on the afternoon while Jackie Morrow added a single knock and a walk through the two games.
The Crimson Ealges will return to action a week from now, taking a trip to Florida to compete in four games over a two day period.
