ASTON, PA - A lackluster performance in the opening 20 minutes of play proved costly for the men's basketball team Thursday evening, as the Crimson Eagles fell on the road to Neumann College 77-57.

PBU was shackled by a 27.6 percent effort from the floor in the opening stanza as the Knights pounced and took advantage, grasping a 39-19 lead by halftime. A paltry nine for 19 effort (47.4 percent) from the charity strip throughout the game didn't help the Crimson Eagles' cause.

Despite corralling 15 offensive rebounds on the night, PBU struggled to get stops on the defensive end, allowing the host squad to connect at a 50 percent clip from the floor for the game, marking the ninth time this season the Crimson Eagles have allowed the opposition to hit more than half of their shots for the game.

Junior forward Willie Miller led the Crimson Eagles in scoring for the third consecutive outing, posting 15 points and nine boards. Senior Austin McCardle poured in eight points and snatched six boards, and Dan Esbenshade added eight points in just 11 minutes of play that included back-to-back triples.

The Crimson Eagles will continue to search for their first CSAC triumph this Saturday when the squad takes on Marywood University in the Mason Activity Cetner at 4:00 pm.
