LANGHORNE, PA - It is a trend that has been far too present in to many games this year for the men's basketball team.
The Crimson Eagles watched Cabrini rip the nets Monday evening as the Cavaliers calmly connected on 54.7 percent of their attempts from the floor for the game en route to a 24 point victory over visiting PBU. It marks the third consecutive outing and fourteenth time overall this season that the Crimson Eagles have allowed the opposition to connect at a plus 50-percent clip.
Struggling to get stops on the defensive end, PBU was also hindered by a two for 13 performance beyond the arc while coughing the ball up 20 times on the offensive end. Although the Crimson Eagles pounded the ball inside registering a season high 38 points in the paint, the visitors' efforts were thwarted by a 26-7 advantage in favor of Cabrini regarding points off of turnovers.
Senior Tom Arthur pumped home his ninth 20-point game of the season, finishing with a game high 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting from the floor. Classmate Austin McCardle added his first double-double of the year, chipping in with 12 points and a game-high mark of 11 boards.Willie Miller added seven points, seven assists while snagging five rebounds in the losing effort.
The Crimson Eagles will return to action this Thursday when the group hosts Centenary College in the Mason Activity at 7:00 pm.
