LANGHORNE, PA - Anytime the opposition shoots at a 57.4 percent clip for the game, you know you're probably in for a long night.
The aforementioned fact combined with PBU's struggling mark of 29.5 percent shooting on the offensive end proved disastrous Thursday evening, as the visiting Griffins of Gwynedd-Mercy College captured a 94-48 triumph in the Mason Activity Center.
In a well balanced attack, 14 of 16 players for Gwynedd scored at least two points with eight of those players connecting for eight or more points throughout the evening. PBU was also hampered by a tremendously lopsided discrepancy in rebounds for the night, with the final count portraying a 46-25 stat-line in the Griffin's favor.
Perhaps the Crimson Eagles' only bright spot was their efficiency from beyond the arc as the host squad connected on 10 of 24 long-range attempts (41.7 percent) marking just the fifth time this season the team has managed to hit above a 40 percent clip.
Senior Dan O'Brien highlighted the long range attack, hitting five triples to tie his career high of 15 points. Classmate Mike Phillips chipped in with nine points.
The Crimson Eagles return to the Mason Activity Center Saturday afternoon to play in their third contest in six days. PBU will take on Baptist Bible College at 4:00 pm.
