LANGHORNE, PA - The Crimson Eagles collected their first conference win of the season during homecoming weekend Saturday, scoring seven times en route to the group's largest triumph in two years.
Up against a Keystone group that was forced to compete down two players the entirety of the contest, the Crimson Eagles made sure to take full advantage of the edge, rocketing a season high mark of 42 shots on the afternoon while limiting the Giants to two.
PBU saw five different players chart at least one goal in the win with Alexa Hays spearheading the surge as the fourth-year vet tallied the sixth hat trick of her career.
Hays put PBU on the board just 3:28 seconds into the opening stanza after skirting three Giant defenders to record her first goal of the season. Rachel Brubaker would connect on her first goal of the year eight minutes later off a feed from sophomore forward Sarah Schenkel.
The Crimson Eagles would go on to use goals from senior Samantha Van Camp and Hays over the ensuing four minutes to boost their lead to 4-0 just 16 minutes into the first half. Lauren Gingrich would extend the edge to 5-0 by the intermission, tallying her first ever collegiate score just 48 seconds before the break.
Hays and Mary Holzer would add two insurance scores during the back end of play to help the Crimson Eagles generate over twice as many goals for the game (7) than the rest of the year combined (3).
PBU moves to 2-7-1 (1-2 CSAC) on the year while Keystone falls to 0-8 (0-4 CSAC).
The soccer team will return to the field on Tuesday when the group hosts Immaculata University at 4:00 pm.
