IMMACULATA, PA - In desperate need of a triumph in order to remain amidst the CSAC postseason conversation, the Crimson Eagles instead dropped a 3-1 decision to Immaculata University Saturday afternoon.
Despite striking first in the opening 13 minutes of play, the Crimson Eagles ultimately allowed three scores in what marks the 11th time this year the group has allowed a multi-score game from the opposition.
Senior Phil Haas dropped in his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 12th minute of the opening half to help give the visitors an early edge. The Mighty Macs responded over the ensuing five minutes of action by drilling two scores of their own to take a single goal edge into the break.
Immaculata would connect once more during the 56th minute of play to pad their cushion to 3-1. The host squad would hold a 17-3 advantage in shots for the game by the time the final horn sounded.
PBU keeper Andy Ecker made nine stops in the cage for the Crimson Eagles in what marks PBU's sixth conference loss of the season.
With their regular season schedule complete, the soccer team will begin postseason play within the NCCAA East Region next week. PBU will host Davis College on Tuesday at 3:00 pm in the semi-finals, with the championship game slated to take place on Thursday.
