PBU Explodes in Four Goal Triumph

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA - After being held scoreless during each of the team's previous three outings, the women's soccer team exploded during a 5-1 victory Tuesday afternoon over the visiting College of Notre Dame.

PBU blew past the Gators behind a four goal first half effort that included three scores within the first sixteen minutes of play. Alexa Hays, Rachel Brubaker, and Kately Henly each pumped in a single goal during the span and Hays followed up with her second score of the afternoon during the 35th minute.

But Hays work wasn't done. Five minutes into the back end of play, the senior forward tallied her third goal of the afternoon, marking her second hat trick of the year and the seventh of her career to give PBU a commanding 5-0 edge.

Notre Dame ended up avoiding the shutout in the 72nd minute when forward Terry Allison found the back of the cage on one of four Gator shots for the afternoon.

PBU racked up their third highest number of shots for the year, pounding 21 shots on goal for the game while holding a 7-0 edge in corners.

The soccer team improves to 3-10-1 with the win (2-5 CSAC) while Notre Dame falls to 3-12-1 on the year (2-6 CSAC).

The Crimson Eagles will compete in their final regular season home contest of the year on Thursday, taking on Cabrini College at 4:00 pm.
