GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - With just one loss to date in conference play, Gwynedd-Mercy College rolled to their sixth CSAC win of the year during a 4-0 shutout over PBU.
The Griffins wasted no time getting on the board as Meghan Bojanowski connected for a score just 1:20 into the contest.
Five minutes later, Melissa Maguire would tack on a second goal, and the Griffins would see their lead extended to three scores before the 10 minute mark thanks to Kirstyn Varas' tally just over eight minutes in.
Once the host squad's scoring binge subsided, the Crimson Eagles would manage to contain Gwynedd's well-oiled offense for the next 28 minutes, but the Griffin's would crack PBU's back line for what turned out to be the fourth and final time 10 minutes before the break to go ahead 4-0.
PBU would manage just four shots on goal for the game and was hindered by a 7-1 margin in corners taken. Crimson Eagle keeper Kristen Lysczasz would do her best to help keep the visitors in the game, coming up with 12 stops in the net.
The soccer team drops to 2-10-1 on the year with a 1-5 record in conference play. Gwynedd-Mercy moves to 8-6 overall with a 6-1 mark in the CSAC.
PBU will return to the playing field on Saturday when the group takes on Cabrini College at 1:00 pm. Game time against the Cavaliers is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
