Immaculata Scorches PBU Behind Hot Shooting

The men's basketball team fell in their third straight CSAC contest Monday evening despit controlling the glass with 19-5 edge in offensive rebounds.

LANGHORNE, PA - The simple fact of basketball is that in order to win games, you've got to get stops.

The Crimson Eagles, who have struggled at times on the defensive end ranking last in the CSAC in field goal percentage defense, watched visiting Immaculata College connect on 60 percent of their field goal attempts en rout to an 81-51 Mighty Mac triumph.


Senior forward Tom Arthur chipped in with his second consecutive double-double, finishing the night with 22 pionts and 13 rebounds, seven on the offensive glass. It marks the fifth straight contest Arthur has reached the 20 point plateau. Mike Phillips connected on three triples to finish with nine points and junior guard Willie Miller added eight points and five boards.

PBU slips to 1-9 (0-3 CSAC) with the loss while Immaculata improves to 4-5 (2-1 CSAC).

The Crimson Eagles will look to rebound when the group heads to Gwynedd-Mercy College on Thursday to take on the Griffins at 7:00 pm.
