Eight Minute Span Dooms Soccer Team in 3-0 Loss

The Crimson Eagles dropped their third straight CSAC game Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 shutout against Marywood University.

Box Score

SCRANTON, PA - Tied 0-0 at halftime, the first eight minutes of the second stanza spelled disaster for the Crimson Eagles as host Marywood University used a three goal explosion during that span to propel the Pacers to a 3-0 victory in Scranton.

Back-to-back-to-back scores early in the second stanza helped the host Pacers to their second straight CSAC victory to open the season.

Despite getting out shot 14-0 in the opening period, the Crimson Eagles somehow managed to hold Marywood scoreless in the opening half. Deadlocked at 0-0 to enter the back end of play, the Pacers quickly reversed the trend in the final 45 minutes.

Marywood capitalized three times within eight minutes to break open the game on the way to their fifth win of the season. The host squad eventually out shot the visitors  31-2 for the game.

Junior keeper Kristen Lyszczasz finished the afternoon with a career high 14 saves.

The Crimson Eagles will host Moravian College next Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
