Falcons Fly High in 17 Point Win

LANGHORNE, PA – A career high 15 points from senior forward Jon Delgado wasn’t enough to combat 57.1 percent shooting in the second half from visiting Davis College as the visiting Falcons managed an 89-71 victory during the opening night of the Chick-fil-A Christmas Classic.

Despite PBU’s 28-12 advantage in bench points – including Delgado’s career night – Davis’s “Big Three” carried the load Friday evening as the trio of Tyler Rathmell, Tyree Handerson, and Daniel Perry combined for 64 points and 26 rebounds in the Falcon’s ninth win of the season.

Davis shot 47.4 percent from the floor and limited PBU 39.1 percent shooting to help advance the Falcons into the championship bout scheduled for Saturday at 7:00 pm. Davis finished with a plus-nine edge on the boards for the game.

PBU was paced by Delgado along with senior forward Tom Arthur who added 20 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Senior guard Mike Phillips chipped in with 10 points on four of eight shooting while classmate Dan O’Brien added nine points, five boards, and four assists, connecting on three of five bombs from deep.

The Crimson Eagles will play in the consolation contest Saturday afternoon, taking on D’Youville College at 3:00 pm. The Spartans fell to Valley Forge Christian College 67-63.
