Jody Luther is in her second season as the Head Coach of the Cairn Men's & Women's Cross Country teams in 2024.
Luther started her college running career at Cairn (PCB) back in 1992. In high school she played volleyball and basketball but loved to run with her dad to keep in shape. "When I visited Cairn as a prospective student and met coach McKinney, I knew I wanted to be part of the XC team. Cairn will always hold a special place in my heart because it was here that I developed my basic running skills and a love for XC." She would eventually transfer to Liberty University where she would run both XC and Track.
After college Luther went on to practice school counseling at both Timothy Christian School in Piscataway, NJ and more recently, Calvary Christian Academy of Philadelphia. She has coached both High School XC and Track and just finished a year as assistant XC coach here at Cairn. She has been married to Dr. Brian Luther, Professor of Divinity at Cairn University, for almost 23 years and they have been blessed to be part of the Cairn community for 11 years. It is her desire to use her coaching platform to encourage student athletes both in their personal running goals and in their walk with Christ.Â
In her first season in 2023, Luther coached Cairn Women's Cross Country to a second place finish in the United East Championship along with two players, AyliGrace Munro and Clarisse Hayden, being named All-Conference. Hayden also was named United East Rookie of the Year.Â
