Jarrett Johnson enters his second year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Marketing for the 2024-2025 athletic season.
In his first year, Johnson directed the marketing and communication efforts as an institution record 12 Highlander teams made postseason appearances, overseeing the Highlanders' athletics website, social media pages, live broadcasting, photography, video/media, and coverage of each of Cairn's 13 athletic programs.
Johnson is a member of the Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA), Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM), and the College Sports Communicators.
Johnson returned to the Highlanders in 2023 after spending five years as a student-athlete member of the Cairn baseball program from 2018-2023 and serving as an assistant on the Cairn Sports Information staff from 2021-2023.
While serving in the Athletic Department at Cairn during his time as a student, Johnson held many roles including Director of the Cairn Intramural Program, Student Supervisor of Basketball Gameday Operations, Gameday Operations, Equipment Manager, and Sports Information Assistant. In his roles with Gameday Operations and Sports Information, Johnson covered all 14 of the Highlanders' varsity teams in one way or another between recaps, statistics and score keeping, and other tasks. 2022-23 Athletic Department Student-Worker of the Year for his numerous contributions to the Athletic Department and dedicated work with Cairn Intramurals.Â
Johnson earned a Master's in Business Administration and Bachelor's in Accounting from Cairn University, graduating Mangna Cum Laude over five years (class of 2023). As a member of the baseball program, Johnson pitched to a 5.18 career Earned Run Average and was named a Team Captain for the 2023 season.Â
Before collegiate athletics, Johnson served on the Athletic Department Staff at his alma mater, Timothy Christian School in Piscataway, NJ, as Manager of Basketball Gameday Operations for four years.Â
