Kevin Jackson joined Cairn University’s staff in 2018 as Head Women’s Tennis Coach. In 2019, he led the women to their first CSAC Championship and was named CSAC Coach of the Year. With a canceled 2020 season, Jackson again led the Highlander women to CSAC Titles consecutively in 2021 and 2022 giving the women appearances in the NCAA National Tournament all three years. In 2020, Jackson also took on coaching responsibilities of the new Cairn men’s tennis team. Kevin brings many years of both tennis and Christian ministry experience to Cairn. He is a bi-vocational pastor and a graduate of Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 1988, Kevin earned his USPTA tennis professional certification. He is also a PTR certified teaching professional in tennis, platform tennis, and pickleball. His tennis professional career includes serving as the Director of the Princeton Tennis Program (USA’s oldest non-profit tennis program), Head Professional at East Brunswick Racquet Club, Adult Director Winning Touch Tennis, and Director of Junior Development at Hopewell Valley Tennis Club. In addition to coaching at Cairn, Jackson is currently Racquets Director at Stanton Ridge Country Club, Whitehouse Station, NJ.
In addition to an extensive coaching and teaching career, he also brings an impressive tournament record. A standout achievement was his 5.0 USTA team winning divisionals and sectionals to earn a spot at the USTA National Championships held at Flushing Meadows, NY (US Open site). His team outlasted sixteen national teams to compete in the finals where they won silver.
Kevin and his wife Vera live in
Milltown, NJ, where she teaches in the North Brunswick school district. Their son, Kevin Jr., is married and is a social worker at a NJ non-profit, and their daughter Sarah is a Cairn University alumnus, grad-assistant in Cairn’s athletic department and a Health & Physical Education teacher.
Kevin is thrilled to coach Cairn University tennis and in addition to bringing players to higher competitive and skill levels, his desire is to encourage and mentor each student-athlete in their relationship with Christ.
