Christina Wolber

Christina Wolber comes to the Highlanders with a wealth of experience; participating at high levels as both a player and coach over the last 23 years.

Wolber is a graduate of Kentucky Christian University where she was a three-time NCCAA National Champion during her four years. Wolber’s decorated career ended by receiving both regional and national honors in her junior and senior seasons, as well as picking up the National Player of the Year award in 1999.

At the conclusion of her playing career, Wolber began coaching immediately after, spending time as a Graduate Assistant Coach at her alma mater, before head coaching Calvary Christian Academy, and also short stints as an Assistant Coach at Cairn University and East Stroudsburg University.

Wolber had this to say about her well-traveled basketball career, “Since playing collegiately at Kentucky Christian University I have always felt I would be a head coach at the collegiate level.  I love playing the game, thinking the game, and teaching the game.  I have been blessed to be a part of some very great teams serving the Lord through the game of basketball all around the world, from Africa, Romania, Spain, Italy and Mexico, to various stops around the USA.  I learned in college, that basketball is a ministry, it gives one a chance to play or lead in such a way that brings honor and glory to the very God who gave us the talents and abilities to do so.  Coaching at Cairn University gives me an opportunity to share my passion in serving the Lord through the game of basketball with a group of talented young ladies.”

Wolber’s goal as a head coach is to affect change in the lives of her players, aiding in their growth as people, students, and players. “If they leave this program and have only gained basketball skills then I have failed these young ladies,” said Wolber, “I do not know what the Lord has in store for us in this upcoming season, but I know that God has a plan and it is a good one.”

Wolber graduated from Kentucky Christian University with a B.S. in Education (Math & Social Studies) and Bible, as well as completing a Master’s Degree in Management & Leadership with an emphasis in Sports Management from East Stroudsburg University.
