Bill Rymer joined the Cairn Softball staff as Assistant Coach in March 2018. He was promoted to Interim Head Coach in January 2019 and has been responsible for all aspects of the program since then. Coach Rymer is also an adjunct professor in the Business Department.
Rymer said; “I feel fortunate to be surrounded by the incredible young adults at Cairn University. I am blessed to lead and support these amazing student-athletes who compete every day to glorify God and represent Cairn University as servant leaders. My goals are to have the same positive impacts on their futures and their faith journeys as they have had on mine.”
Prior to coming to Cairn University, Rymer was the Chief Financial Officer for several companies, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He retired in the Fall of 2017 and felt a calling to become part of the Cairn family. Bill coached numerous youth sports while his two children were growing up. In addition to basketball, football and soccer, Bill was a softball coach for more than 8 years including travel ball. Coach Rymer has been married for 28 years and has two children, John (23) and Catie (21).
