Shawn Davis has been teaching and training athletes for over 30 years. He recently became a PGA Associate by passing the PGA Player Ability Test (PAT) as the #1 qualifier in the field. Davis outscored the 28 other potential PGA certification candidates by at least two strokes. Only five other participants qualified for PGA status.
Coach Davis is also a teacher at Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club where he maintains and oversees the all-grass practice facilities. During his collegiate career Coach Davis received NCAA Baseball All-American category honors as a pitcher having the highest number of strikeouts in the country.
“At Cairn we bring a Biblical view to our successful golf program,” stated Coach Davis, “Having a close relationship with CGF College Golf Fellowship provides our players the opportunity to hang out with Christian PGA pro’s for days at a time with other like-minded Christian NCAA D1, D2 and D3 players.”
The Highlanders placed second in the CSAC Championship in 2018- 2019, highlighted by two First Team and one Second Team All-CSAC selections. Additionally, the Highlanders Ryan Borrmann carded a win leading Cairn to a second place team finish at DuPont Country Club in Delaware.
Outside of golf, Coach Davis is a Graduate Professor specializing in entrepreneurship at Cairn University, and an author and former COO in a Private Equity - Venture Capital firm in NYC, focused specifically on financeing first (1st) and second (2nd) stage entrepreneurial companies. Additionally, I was the assistant baseball coach at Cairn developing the pitchers and catchers.
Coach Davis has his BA/BBA in History and Business Administration from Principia College (Elsah, IL.), an MA in Professional Development from Amberton University (Garland, TX), and has also completed graduate coursework in Religion at Cairn University (Langhorne, PA), and Doctoral coursework in the entrepreneurship program at Regent University (Virginia Beach, VA).
