Cairn University has appointed Gregg Fanus to the position of Associate Director of Athletics.
Gregg will continue to serve as a faculty member teaching courses in health, physical education, and teaching methods and pedagogy. He is also the Program Advisor for the Health and PE program (HPEC). His focus will be pursuing greater resources within the academic side of the University. He also will supervise intramurals and help to create a vision of team cooperation and involvement in the community using our student athletes to serve in unique means.
Fanus a standout soccer and basketball player for the Highlanders was a 2001 NCCAA DII All-American Honorable Mention selection and 2002 NSCAA/Adidas NCCAA Division II All-American selection, both for Men's soccer. He also was named to the 2001 and 2002 NCCAA DII All-Tournament team for his performance in the NCCAA DII National Soccer Tournament held in Kissimmee, FL
He also ranks 6th all-time in career assists in basketball with 235 for his career.
In addition to teaching, he is also the faculty advisor for Cairn Force (Cairn’s Ultimate Disc club).
Prior to teaching at Cairn, Professor Fanus worked for 9 years as a health and physical education teacher at every level K-12, including 6 years of teaching adaptive physical education and physical education for autistic and emotional support classes. He has also coached tennis, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse for middle and high school students.
Gregg and his wife Ashley reside in Langhorne with their three children Jacob, Cameron and Emery.
