Bill Marshall

  • Title
    Head Coach
Bill Marshall, a longtime veteran of Highlander athletics, returns as the head of the Men's Golf team. A standout soccer and baseball player during his collegiate playing days at Cairn University, Marshall returns to his alma mater to take the reigns of the golf program.

Marshall had a successful tenure previously as Coach of the golf team, in his first season with the squad, the group averaged a collective mark of 343 during match play - the program's second best tally ever. Additionally, Marshall helped groom the program's first ever First Team All-Conference CSAC performer as Corey Snyder picked up the honors following a second place finish during the championship round.

Year two under Marshall's watch was even more impressive. With four well-tested veterans in their lineup, the Highlanders managed to string together the most dominant campaign in the program’s eight-year history. The team averaged the lowest four-player scoring average of all-time (329.5), with every golfer on the squad carding their lowest career round at some point during the campaign.

Moreover, the pinnacle of the season came together during the CSAC Championship as the Crimson Eagles secured their best ever finish during the two day event, grabbing second place overall. The golf squad nearly clocked the lowest round in school history on day two of the tournament, ending with a collective mark of 316 to finish just a solo swing shy of the program record.

For his efforts, Marshall was named the CSAC Coach of the Year following the 2011 spring season, becoming the first coach in Cairn history to garner the recognition. Marshall will look to build on his past success with the newest golfers to come through the University.

He currently resides in Newtown, PA.
