LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Women's Tennis came away with the 6-2 win against the Nittany Lions.
Doubles:
Cairn (6-6 / 6-2 UNITED EAST) had some help from their Seniors Tatiana Ipri (Mullica Hill, NJ / Gloucester County Christian) and Hajin Seo (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School), getting the #2 doubles win by a score of 6-2. The #3 doubles match up was led by Freshman Dana Brimacombe (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada / International School of Qingdao) and Amanda Panaligan, winning their match by a score of 6-2 to secure the crucial doubles point to start out the day.
Singles:
The Highlanders dominated the middle of the lineup, with #2 singles win from Ipri by a score of 6-1, 6-0. #3 singles were battled out by Madison Searls (Seaford, DE / Salisbury Christian), winning her match up in the third set, by finishing her last two sets with a dominating score of 6-2 each to secure the #3 point for the highlanders. Seo competed at the #4 spot, coming out of a hard-fought match, winning by a score of 6-4, 6-4. To cap off the Highlander's day, Brimacombe had a long, gritty match day, going to a 10-point breaker in her match up, coming from behind after losing her first set, winning her second 6-1 and then winning in style in the breaker with a score of 13-11.
Cairn will look to keep their winning going as they play against the Penn College Wildcats for a Senior Day showdown on Saturday. April 18th for a 1 pm start time.
