Media, PA - Cairn Outlasts Penn State Berks to win 4-3.
Cairn (1-4 / 1-0 UNITED EAST) started the match by forfeiting the #3 Doubles and #6 Singles sports to Penn State Berks (0-5 / 0-1 UNITED EAST) due to a lack of players.
Doubles:
The Highlanders claimed the doubles point by handily defeating Berks at both the #1 and #2 Doubles positions by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 respectively.
Singles:
At the number 1 singles position junior
Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) dominated winning both sets 6-1.
Senior Tatianna Ipri followed suit controlling the whole match and winning 6-2, 6-1 at the #2 Singles spot. The number 3 singles slot is where the Highlanders secured the victory. Junior
Madison Searls (Seaford, DE / Salisbury Christian) dropped the first set 4-6, before battling back to win the second set 6-2. With the match on the line Searls overcame her opponent and won 6-4.
Cairn dropped the #4 and #5 SIngles matches but won the overall match 4-3, moving to 1-0 in conference play.
The Highlanders will return to action with an away match on Wednesday March 25th at Penn State Abington.
