LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Women's Tennis took on the Mighty Macs of Immaculata for their second match day of their fall season, falling just short with a score of 5-2.
DOUBLES PLAY
Cairn (0-2) got the day started off with #1 doubles play by junior Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) and senior Tatiana Ipri (Mullica Hill, NJ / Gloucester County Christian) as they fought till the very end and came out on top with the victory for their doubles contest against the Macs. Senior Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire HS) and junior Hajin Seo (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) both took on the #2 doubles contest and fought hard but came up just short with a score of 6-4.
SINGLES PLAY
Griffith got the singles play started off taking on the #1 singles assignment and taking complete control in her contest, notching a double bagel against the Macs to put the Highlanders on the board winning, 6-0, 6-0. Ipri took on the #2 singles match and won a hard fought contest, earning her first win of the season with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Sobrino took on the #3 singles contest and put up 4 total games, but coming up short with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Seo had a very close #4 singles contest, winning a set, but coming up just short in her 3 set breaker 10-6.
The Highlanders look to get back on track on the road against Arcadia for a 3 pm contest in Glenside, PA on Wednesday.
