LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Men's Tennis took on Immaculata University for their second match day of the fall season, coming out on top in this one, 4-3.
DOUBLES PLAY
Cairn (1-1) got the day started off with #1 doubles taken on by seniors Daniel Stange (Langhorne, PA / Bucks County Technical) and Jacob Gossel (Allentown, PA / Covenant Christian) who fought hard in their match against the Mighty Macs, eventually falling just short, 6-4. For #2 doubles, sophomore Matheo Baez (Ibarra, Ecuador / Victoria Bilingual Chrisitan) and junior Joshua Nacy (Puebla, Mexico / Michigan Connections Academy) had a close contest in their match, taking 5 of the 12 games, but coming just short with a score of 7-5.
SINGLES PLAY
Baez got the singles play started, taking on #1 singles falling 6-1, 6-0. Nacy took the #2 spot, going down to the wire match, taking one set, but eventually falling just short in the 3-set breaker, 10-6. Stange took on the #3 singles assignment and handled business, putting the Highlanders on the board with a score of 6-1, 6-2 for his second straight singles win this season. #4 singles was taken care of by Gossel, claiming his first singles win of the season with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Senior Evan Ciccone (Tinton Falls, NJ / Monmouth Regional) took on the #5 singles match and got his first win of the fall season by a score of 6-0, 6-3 and looks to keep the momentum moving forward.
The Highlanders will look to keep the ball rolling against Arcadia for a 3 pm contest on the road in Glenside, PA.
