LANGHORNE, PA – Women's Volleyball swept conference foe Penn St. Berks in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night.
The night got underway with a powerful start for Cairn (4-2) as the Highlanders opened on a 9-2 run behind three kills from freshman outside hitter

Bridget Dahn (Smithsburg, MD / Heritage Academy) made their contributions fending off the Nittany Lions' push, 12-8, Shackelford teaming up with junior setter
Anna Dow (Syracuse, NY / Faith Heritage) for a block to stay ahead 16-10. As Dow took the serve, Shackelford and freshman opposite
Bella Manthe (Manila, Philippines / Faith Academy) fired off kills as Cairn kept the lead 21-13. A four-point run put Berks (0-3) in striking distance, but Dahn sealed the set with a kill, winning 25-18.
After trading the opening points, Cairn pulled ahead behind Shackelford's serve with an ace while Dahn and junior middle
Georgianna Thorpe (Southampton, PA / William Tennent) managed kills, Manthe and Thorpe teamed up on a block as well. Dahn carried on with an ace of her own while Lehman swung for two kills to keep the lead 18-11. With three more points on the board for Berks, Lehman took the serve to finish the set, leading to kills from Shackelford and Dow while finding space to grab two aces, 25-14.

Liliana Magazzu (Reading, PA / Exeter) did her thing with two aces, leading the Highlanders back to tie the set at nine points apiece. The lead swung back and forth as Dahn and Lehman continued to fire shots across the net as Berks stole the lead late, 21-18. Seven unanswered points for Cairn led the way to their fourth victory of the season, Lehman ending the night on three-straight kills, 25-21.
Lehman went for 14 kills on .235% hitting with ten digs and a pair of aces. Dahn had nine while Thorpe and Shackelford each added four kills. Thorpe stepped up at the net with three total blocks helping to total 6.5 points.
The Highlanders will take a break before the Rutgers-Newark tri-match on Saturday where they face the Scarlet Raiders and Lehman College at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
