LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Softball dropped both games on Saturday to Notre Dame of Maryland (3-14) and (1-10).
GAME ONE
In this game, it was all the Gators with the early damage being dealt in the top of the third inning against the Highlanders, notching 14 runs in the frame. Freshman third baseman
Riley Curtis (Newark, DE / Odessa) got the Highlanders on the board with a double down the left field line, bringing in 2 runs while junior first baseman
Abby McIntyre (Galloway, NJ / Pilgrim Academy) would then hit a RBI single to right field, sending Curtis home, making the score 14-3, but that was all the Highlanders had in this one, ending the game in 5 innings.
Junior catcher
Myiah Petroro (Long Island, NY / Liberty University Online Academy) would be perfect in game one, going 2-2 along with a walk and scoring a run in the third.
GAME TWO
It was a tough go to start for the Highlanders, but in the fourth inning, junior first baseman
Sydney Wright (Souderton, PA / Souderton) would get Cairn on the board with a line drive RBI single to make the score 8-1, with the Highlanders eventually falling 10-1 in game two of the doubleheader against the Gators.
Senior center fielder
Julianna Baker (Freeland, PA / Clarks Summit University) went 2-3 as did Curtis with a double.
