LANGHORNE, PA – The 2025 United East Women's Tennis field is finally set, as all teams finished up their regular season on Saturday afternoon, as Cairn clinched the #3 seed in the talent stacked conference of the United East with a 6-1 win against Penn State Abington to improve their record to 6-2 heading into the Championship.
THE FIELD:
St. Mary's of Maryland (8-0) clinched the top seed in the Championship, earning the No. 1 overall seed. Penn St. Harrisburg (7-1) has earned the No. 2 seed in the United East Championship, having gone the season with 13 total wins. Cairn University (6-2) has earned the No. 3 seed and are going into the Championship with a 2 game winning streak and seeking to improve that. Lancaster Bible College (6-2) clinched the No. 4 seed after having an impressive away record of 5-1 this season. Penn St. Abington (5-3) will receive the No. 5 seed after having gone a United East percentage of .626, improving on last year's 2-3 conference record. Notre Dame of Maryland (3-5) will have the No. 6 seed, having the tie breaker over Penn St. Berks (3-5) in whom will receive the No. 7 seed. Lastly, Penn College (2-6) sneaks in the Championship earning the No. 8 seed to close out the field for the United East Women's Tennis Championship for 2025.
OUR TEAM:
The Highlanders have clinched the No. 3 seed in the united East Championship. The team has been dominant for years, and this year they stay that way with being able to clinch a home court advantage in the first round for the Championship. In singles play, sophomore
Delaney Bouton (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach High School) had an impressive season going 5-3 in singles along with senior
Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire HS) going 6-2 in her singles matches this year. Cairn was also very good for their doubles matchups this year with sophomore's
Madison Searls (Seaford, DE / Salisbury Christian School) and
Hajin Seo (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) going 6-2 in their 2025 doubles season.
THE MATCHUP:
The Highlanders go into the United East Championship playoffs as the No. 3 seed taking on the No. 6 seeded Notre Dame of Maryland Gators. The Highlanders have won their previous 6 meetings against the Gators, hoping to improve that to 7 with a win on Sunday. It will be the first time they meet this year, not having played each other in the United East Conference play. The Highlanders will take on the Gators in Langhorne, PA at the McCurdy Tennis Facility for the United East Championship First Round on Sunday at 1 p.m.
