CHAMBERSBURG, PA – Wilson ran past the Highlanders in their first road conference match on Saturday, as Cairn fell 95-50.
Wilson (5-4 / 1-0 UNITED EAST) got off to a strong start, outscoring Cairn (1-8 / 0-2 UNITED EAST) 26-9 in the first quarter as junior forward
Emily Brittin (Winslow, NJ / Pilgrim Academy) had four points in the frame. Freshman guard
Olivia Logan (Cherry Hill, NJ / Camden Co. College) got fouled on a three to open the second quarter, making the free throw for a four-point swing. Wilson responded with a pair of threes and more scores as the lead threatened thirty points to close the half, 50-22.
Facing the deficit, senior guard
Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire) scored a pair of layups with the Phoenix pressing ahead by forty. Sophomore forward
Lexi Cramer (Greenwood, DE / Greenwood Mennonite) and freshman forward
Maddy Birth (Shickshinny, PA / Cross Creek Christian) each added a bucket late in the set.
Sobrino went on a solo streak of seven points in the fourth, but Wilson had already made the advantage too big to overcome as the Highlanders fell 95-50.
Sobrino was the Highlanders' leading scorer with 18 points, six assists, and four steals.
The Highlanders break for 2025 and will pick up conference play with Lancaster Bible in January.
