MTEN: Highlanders Finish Fall Season

ST. DAVIDS, PA- The Highlanders fought hard, but had a tough matchup against the Eagles in a Saturday Fall Finale on the road, losing by a score of 1-6.

DOUBLES PLAY:

Seniors Daniel Stange (Langhorne, PA / Bucks County Technical High School) and Jacob Gossel (Allentown, PA / Covenant Christian HS) took on the #1 doubles matchup against the Eagles, fighting hard till the finish, but coming up short with a score of 4-6. Sophomore Matheo Baez (Ibarra, Ecuador / Victoria Bilingual Christian Academy) and Junior Joshua Nacy (Puebla, Mexico / Michigan Connections Academy) both took on the #2 doubles matchup and fought but eventually lost 0-6. The #3 doubles were back at it again, as Senior Evan Ciccone (Tinton Falls, NJ / Monmouth Regional) and Freshman Nehemiah Clark (Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea / Ukarumpa International School) struck again on the win column, marking their third straight doubles win with a score of 6-3 in this one.

SINGLES PLAY:

Baez took on the #1 singles match and gave it his all against the Eagles' #1 but eventually came short with a final score of 2-6, 1-6. Stange took on the #2 singles matchup and was able to take 3 games in this one, but fell short with a score of 2-6, 1-6. Nacy played #3

singles and fought hard in this one, having won 7 games, but lost by a score of 3-6, 4-6. Gossel took on #4 singles in his last ever tennis match, unfortunately falling 0-6, 3-6. Clark took on the #5 singles assignment and came out on top with a statement match against the Eagles, winning by a score of 6-2, 3-6, and winning in a third set breaker, 7-6. Ciccone took on #6 singles and lost by a score of 1-6, 0-6.

The Highlanders finish off their fall season with a record of 1-4 and look forward to the upcoming spring season with their heads high.
