MTEN: Men's Tennis Prepares for St. Mary's in Semifinal Round

LANGHORNE, PA - The Cairn University Men's Tennis team has clinched a playoff spot as the No. 4 seed in the 2024 United East Men's Tennis Championship. They will travel to St Mary's City, MD on Tuesday, April 30.

THE FIELD:
After having an undefeated season, St. Mary's College of Maryland (7-0) was able to clinch the No.1 seed for the 2024 United East Men's Tennis Championship tournament. Penn State Harrisburg (5-1) clinched the No. 2 spot. Penn State Abington (5-2) is the No. 3 seed after falling to Penn State Harrisburg in their regular season match and Cairn (4-3) as to clinch the No. 4 seed. The Untied East Semi-Final will take place on Tuesday, April 30. No.1 seed St. Mary's will host a match against the Highlanders at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's City, MD. The battle between the Nittany Lions of Penn State - Harrisburg & Penn State - Abington will take place in Middletown, PA. The winners of two matches will face off on May 4 for the Championship at Hershey Racquet Club.

OUR TEAM:
Cairn's Men's Tennis team finished the regular season with a 5-5 overall record and 4-3 in conference play this year. Sophomore Jacob Gossel (Allentown, PA / Covenant Christian High School) had a dominant regular season with an overall record of 6-1 in singles play.

THE MATCHUP:
Cairn will face off against No. 1 seed St. Mary's in St. Mary's City, MD. The Highlanders hosted a match earlier in the season against the Seahawks on April 9 where the Seahawks swept, 9-0.
