LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn University Men's Tennis team hosted Penn College on Senior Day Saturday as seniors Joel Kim (Harrington Park, NJ / Black Forest Academy), Timothy Robinson Jr. (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson), and Michael Wilson (New Hope, PA / New Hope-Solebury) were honored at the McCurdy Tennis Facility.
Kim & sophomore Jacob Gossel (Allentown, PA / Covenant Christian) got the Highlanders started with an 8-3 win in #2 doubles followed up by sophomore Daniel Stange (Langhorne, PA / Bucks County Technical High School) and Joshua Nacy (Puebla, Mexico / Michigan Connections Academy) winning 8-1 in #3 doubles for a 2-1 lead heading to singles play.
Robinson Jr. won the #2 singles pairing 6-2/6-2 ahead of Stange who took #4 singles 6-3/6-3. Gossel finished off the Highlanders' win with a victory in #6 singles, blanking his Wildcat opponent 6-0/6-0 to win the match for Cairn, 5-4.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Cairn heads to Penn State - Harrisburg on Sunday for the final regular season conference match up remaining for a 2 p.m. start. The Highlanders have clinched a berth in the 2024 United East Men's Tennis Championship tournament, awaiting final seeding from the conference office.
