LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn University Women's Tennis team hosted conference foe Cedar Crest College and a non-conference matchup with Arcadia on Friday afternoon, winning both matches 7-2 and then 5-4.
MATCH ONE – CEDAR CREST
Freshman
Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) and senior
Ersy Neal (Wayne, PA / Delaware County Christian) took the first doubles match 8-1 with senior
Rachel Campbell-Robertson (Richmond, VA / Veritas School) and freshman
Laney Bouton (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach High School) taking the second pairing, 8-0. The Highlanders would drop No. 3 doubles and take a 2-1 lead into singles play.
Cairn (8-1 / 4-0 UNITED EAST SKYE DIVISION) would take four out of six pairings against the Falcons in singles play, leading off with Griffith winning #1 singles 6-0/6-0. Neal won 6-2/6-1, Campbell-Robertson win 6-1/6-0, and Bouton won 6-0/6-1 to provide the Highlanders with their fourth straight conference victory.
MATCH TWO – ARCADIA
Griffith & Neal won #1 singles 8-1 as Campbell-Robertson & Bouton won 8-3. Moving to singles play, Griffith, Campbell-Robertson, and Bouton would take their matches against the Knights (6-2/6-0, 7-5/6-1, and 6-2/6-1, respectively, as the Highlanders moved to 8-1 on the season.
Cairn Women's Tennis will host the Wildcats of Penn College on Saturday for Senior Day at 1:30 p.m. at the McCurdy Tennis Facility.
