Box Score BALTIMORE, MD – Cairn Women's Tennis opened up their season and United East Conference play on Tuesday, traveling south to Notre Dame of Maryland University for an afternoon match.
 
Cairn (1-0 / 1-0 UNITED EAST) got underway with a pair of wins in doubles play as freshman Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) and junior Ersy Neal (Mullica Hill, NJ / Gloucester County Christian) took #1 doubles 8-1.  Seniors Abby Horning (St. Adamstown, PA / Cocalico) and Gabriella Hurst (Stevens, PA / Cocalico) took the rubber match in #3 doubles, 8-2.
 
In singles play, Griffith played in the #1 spot, winning in commanding fashion, 6-1 and 6-1. Neal followed in #2 doubles, taking the matchup 6-1 and 6-2. Horning played won the #4 singles faceoff 6-1 and 6-1 before freshman Laney Bouton (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach HS) took #5 singles, 6-2 and then 6-0.
 
The Highlanders will face Penn State – Abington on the road Saturday followed by Clarks Summit on April 3 before their home opener on Saturday, April 6 as they host Lancaster Bible College.
