| By:
LANGHORNE, PA - No. 5 Cairn University Women's Basketball advanced to the Divisional Semi-Final after their 91-74 upset victory over No. 4 Wilson College Saturday, to face off against No. 1 Notre Dame of Maryland on Monday, February 19 in Baltimore, MD.

THE FIELD AS IT REMAINS: No. 1 Notre Dame of Maryland will host the Divisional Semi-Final game against No. 5 Cairn on Monday, February 19 at 7:00PM after a first round bye. Cairn Women's Basketball defeated No. 4 Wilson College in an upset on Saturday in the Divisional Round. No. 3 Bryn Athyn will be traveling to Morristown, NJ to play against No. 2 Saint Elizabeth on Monday, February 19 at 5:00PM. Bryn Athyn was able advance to the Divisional Semi-Final by defeating No. 6 Cedar Crest College, 69-49 on Saturday afternoon. The Sky Division Finals will be held at the highest remaining seed on Wednesday, February 21. From there, the Skye and Volt Division champions meet at the Volt Division's home court to battle it out for their spot at the NCAA National Tournament.

THE NEXT MATCHUP: Cairn will play No. 1 Notre Dame of Maryland Monday night. They last matched up on February 5 in Baltimore where the Highlanders fell 72-57. That night, junior forward Taylor Hinson (Carney's Point, NJ / Collingswood) led the Highlanders in scoring with 20 points on better than 50% shooting from the floor and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line, providing seven rebounds and four assists. Freshman guard Makayla Raines (Jonesboro, GA / St. Mary's Academy) was also in double digits, adding 19 points with a pair of threes.

As a team, the Highlanders have scored 72.0 points per game so far, outscoring their opponents by 11.9 points on average. Notre Dame averages 65.9 points, outscoring opponents by 14.9 and allowing 51 points per game as Cairn has allowed their opponents to score around 60 points on average. Keys for the Highlanders as a team will be limiting turnovers and holding Notre Dame to a single shot or less per possession. The Gators will have to stop Raines who comes off a single-game record 47 point performance on Saturday, her third 40+ point game this season. Seemingly scoring at will, Raines splashed four triples in the first round matchup with No. 4 Wilson, shooting over 50% from the field.
