WVB: #5 Highlanders to Host #12 Wilson for First Round Match

LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Women's Volleyball prepares to host their second-straight United East First Round match as the #12 Phoenix of Wilson College return to Langhorne for the second time this season. 
 
The Highlanders finished fifth in the conference seeding, tied with Notre Dame of Maryland University, Penn State Abington, and Keystone College after all four finished with identical 7-3 league records.  Cairn earned the No. 5 seed based upon the Combined Win Percentage in Conference Games of Conference Opponents tiebreaker while Notre Dame (Md.) earned the No. 6 seed on a head-to-head victory over Keystone on October 19th.  Penn State Abington claimed the No. 7 seed on the Results Against All Common Conference Opponents tiebreaker while Keystone will begin the tournament at the No. 8 seed. On the season, the Highlanders played to a 15-6 record, going 8-5 in Langhorne and 7-1 on the road. 

Seniors Caroline Conrad (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) and Hendryl Peabody (Bensalem, PA / Faith Baptist Christian Academy) have been the one-two punch for Cairn Women's Volleyball, each finishing the regular season with 199 kills and hitting over .200%. Conrad leads the team in points (243) while Peabody has added to the defensive side with a team-leadng 33 block assists. The Highlanders' defense has been exceptional, holding opponents to .084 hitting while picking up 19.38 digs per set, good enough to lead the United East and rank 11th in NCAA Division III. 
 
               Cairn looks to start their postseason run with their First Round match on Wednesday night, November 6 at 7 p.m. as they host the twelve-seeded Phoenix of Wilson College, whom they swept at home during the regular season.
