LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Women's Volleyball dropped their regular season finale on Thursday night, being swept by Lancaster Bible College.

Caroline Conrad (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) and senior opposite
Hendryl Peabody (Bensalem, PA / Faith Baptist Christian Academy) were honored on senior night for their accomplishments over each of their careers.
Getting into the game, Lancaster Bible (21-6 / 8-1 UNITED EAST) took the lead out of the gate ahead to 12-6. Conrad had two kills followed by an ace from junior defensive specialist
Delaney Hollenbeck (Kingsley, PA / Lackawanna College) to cut the lead to two. Cairn (15-6 / 7-3 UNITED EAST) would come as close as one point on a block and kill by Conrad and kill from Peabody, 15-14. The Chargers sprinted to the finish from that point, 25-16.
Lancaster Bible took the first two points of the set before the Highlanders tied it up on a kill from graduate setter
Olivia Zepp (Westminster, MD / Francis Scott Key). The Chargers took the lead right back, stretching the score to 12-5 as they pressed onward. Freshman defensive specialist
Liliana Magazzu (Reading, PA / Exeter) took control of the serve later, recording three-straight aces to cut the deficit to two points. The Chargers would score five unanswered points to take the set, 25-18.
In the third set, the Chargers got on a run early, 9-1, forcing a Highlander timeout to stop the momentum. Cairn would then score four quick points with a kill each from freshman middle
Maddie Shackelford (Warrington, PA / Plumstead Christian) and sophomore outside hitter
Madison Searls (Seaford, DE / Salisbury Christian) with an ace by junior libero
Payton Cline (Falling Waters, WV / Heritage Academy). Lancaster Bible was unphased, running back ahead 17-7 Cairn was able to cut the lead to seven with another ace from Magazzu. The Chargers would keep charging, scoring five more down the stretch to win the match, 25-13.
Peabody would lead Highlander attackers with seven kills and a block. Magazzu tied a game-high four aces while Hollenbeck had two.
The Highlanders finish the regular season at 15-6 overall and 7-3 in conference play and will await their seeding for the 2024 United East Women's Volleyball Championship, as they now sit fifth in the rankings.
