Conference-Wide "United Feast" SAAC Initiative to Run 2/2 - 2/11

LATHAM, NY - The United East Conference member institutions will be participating in the second annual "United Feast" initiative from February 2-11.

Each campus's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) groups will be setting up points to drop off canned goods and non-perishables for the canned food drive. Institutions will be collecting these items at all home athletic events as well.

"This is an initiative we are really excited about," remarked United East Assistant Commissioner, Sam Carges. "Last year, our SAAC groups were able to make a big impact in their surrounding communities and this year, with the largest conference in Division III, I can't wait to see how much more we can do!"

Last year marked the first ever "United Feast" with the nine member institutions gathering over 2,500 canned goods and other non-perishables for their local food pantries.

Throughout the week, totals will be relayed to the conference where a leaderboard will show which schools are leading the initiative.

"Our student-athletes thrive on competition," stated Carges. "When one of our SAAC leaders suggested making this into a competition between schools, everyone jumped on board immediately."

The 17 institutions will collect items throughout the timeframe and have each chosen a local charity center where each group will donate the goods to at the conclusion of the initiative. Find the donation centers in which they plan to give here:
