LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Cairn University men's tennis team won, 5-4, at home against non-conference adversary Cabrini University inside the McCurdy Tennis Facility on Tuesday afternoon.
Cairn (2-5) kicked off the day with a victory in the No. 3 doubles match courtesy of freshmen
Jacob Gossel (Allentown, PA / Covenant Christian) and
Ethan Fan with an 8-1 triumph.
Trailing 2-1 entering singles play, the Highlanders grabbed victories in both No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles, with sophomore
Michael Wilson (New Hope, PA / New Hope) posting a 6-1, 3-6 (10-5) tiebreak win in the No. 1 slot, and senior
Timothy Robinson Jr. (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) earning a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. Fan grabbed a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles, and the match came down to the No. 4 singles slot, where freshman
Daniel Stange battled to a thrilling 5-7, 6-1 (10-8) tiebreak victory to seal the win for Cairn.
The Highlanders will return to the court on Saturday, March 25 when they travel to Lancaster for a non-conference match with Lancaster Bible College at 12 p.m.
