ASTON, PA - The Cairn University Men's Tennis team embarked on their 2023 fall season on Tuesday, taking on Neumann University on the road, falling to the Knights 6-3.
In singles play, junior
Michael Wilson (New Hope, PA / New Hope-Solebury) took the #2 singles match 2-1. After dropping the first set, Wilson came back to take the second and third 6-3 and 10-6. Junior
Joel Kim (Harrington Park, NJ / Black Forest Academy) followed Wilson's lead in the #3 singles matchup, sweeping by a commanding score of 6-1 and 6-3. Freshman
Joshua Nacy (Puebla, Mexico / Michigan Connections Academy) and sophomore
Jacob Gossel (Allentown, PA / Covenant Christian HS) would close out the #5 and #6 singles matches with wins of 6-2 & 6-1 and 6-2 & 6-3, respectively. In doubles play, Kim and Gossel would team up to take the #3 doubles match 8-5.
Cairn Men's Tennis joins the women's squad in their season opener, both heading to Wilkes-Barre, PA on Saturday, October 14, as King's College (PA) hosts the Highlanders and the Wildcats of Penn College.
