LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University softball team fell in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) doubleheader at home against Cedar Crest College inside the Stillman Complex on Saturday, dropping game one by an 11-0 score before falling in game two by a 13-4 margin.

Theresa Beck (Lansdale, PA / Dock Mennonite Academy) slapped a two-RBI double into right field make the score 3-2. Cedar Crest increased its lead to 7-3 after three innings, but the Highlanders responded when junior
Emma Holmes Newtown, PA / Council Rock North) deposited an RBI-single into left-center field to cut the deficit to just three (7-4) after five innings. The Falcons put the game out of reach with a big, six-run sixth inning to seal the victory in game two.
Cairn was led in game on by freshman
Julia Bruestle (Abington, PA / Abington) who went one-for-two with a bunt single in the bottom of the first inning. Beck paced the Highlander offense in game two with a pair of hits and RBIs, while classmate
Jenna Kenyon (Clarksville, MD / River Hill) matched Beck with two hits.
The Highlanders will be back on the field on Tuesday, April 5 when they hit the road to take on non-conference adversary Gwynedd Mercy University in a doubleheader at 3 p.m.
