Men’s Tennis: Highlanders Grab Road Victory at Clarks Summit

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cairn University men's tennis team won, 6-3, on the road at Clarks Summit University on Saturday.
 
Despite defaulting two matches on the day, Cairn (5-6) claimed six of the seven matches it participated in, led by senior Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) and freshman Joel Kim (Harrington Park, PA / Black Forest Academy) with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Garges got the Highlanders started on the right foot in singles bouts with a 6-4, 2-6, 11-9 tiebreaker victory at No. 1 singles, while classmate Jake Edwards (Delta, PA / Harford Christian) snagged a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 2 slot. Kim picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, while senior Ismael Santana (Danbury, CT / Danbury) snagged a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4. Junior Joel Cassel (Glenside, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) rounded out the day for the Highlanders, besting his opponent by a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 5 singles.
 
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Saturday, April 9 when they travel to Morristown to take on Saint Elizabeth in a road matchup at 10 a.m.
