Women’s Tennis: Highlanders Roll to Ninth-Straight Victory with Sweep at Notre Dame (MD)

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cairn University women's tennis team won, 9-0, in shutout fashion on the road at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday, recording their ninth-straight win to improve to 15-1 on the season.
 
Cairn (15-1, 4-0 CSAC) collected all three doubles victories against Notre Dame (1-3, 0-3 CSAC), led by junior Paige Kemper (Lansdale, PA / Garden Spot) and freshman Ersy Neal (Wayne, PA / Delco Christina) with an 8-1 win in the No. 1 doubles position. Sophomore Rachel Campbell-Robertson (Richmond, VA / Veritas School) and freshman Daphne Neal (Wayne, PA / Delco Christian) followed that up with an 8-0 shutout in the No. 2 slot and the Highlanders claimed the win in No. 3 doubles by default.
 
Kemper led the charge in the singles bouts with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles, while sophomore Brianna Miller (Delta, PA / Kennard-Dale) won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 2 slot. Campbell-Robertson posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout in the No. 3 position, while sophomore Gabriella Hurst (Stevens, PA / Cocalico) bested her opponent 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 slot. Cairn won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles by default.
 
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Wednesday, April 20 when they return to Langhorne for a conference matchup with Bryn Athyn College at 3:30 p.m.
