HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Cairn University women's tennis team won two of their three matches over their Spring Break Trip in sunny Hilton Head Island this past week.
Cairn (8-1) dropped the first match of their week-long trip to Brevard College by a score of 7-2 on Sunday, before defeating Albion College by shutout (7-0) in a rain-shortened match on Monday. The Highlanders rounded out the week with a 9-0 shutout triumph against Marietta on Wednesday. Sophomore
Abby Horning (St. Adamstown, PA / Cocalico) went undefeated in singles matches for the week, posting a 3-0 record at No. 6 singles, while senior
Sarah Jackson (Milltown, NJ / Middlesex Community College) posted a 2-0 record in the No. 4 slot and was on her way to finishing 3-0 for the week before her match with Albion was canceled.
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Monday, March 21 when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a non-conference contest at 4 p.m.
