LA PLUME, Pa. – The Cairn University women's basketball team lost, 77-51, on the road in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest against Keystone College on Wednesday evening.
Keystone (16-4, 13-4 CSAC) showed its might as the CSAC's second-best team early in this one, jetting out to a 26-7 after one quarter of play. Cairn (8-16, 6-11 CSAC) responded well, outscoring the Giants 15-12 in the second frame and trailed 38-22 at intermission. The Highlanders managed to get the Keystone lead to just 13 (39-26) just under three minutes into the second half, but the Giants with a quick 9-0 burst to put an end to the Highlanders comeback hopes and the Giants rode their margin to victory.
Cairn shot 32.9% (23-70) from the floor compared to a 43.9% (29-66) mark for the Giants. Keystone held the edge in the rebounding battle (50-36) shot a scorching 46.7% (14-30) from long range.

Dakota Hitchner (Ocean City, NJ / Atlantic Christian) with a team-high 14 points while freshman
Tamia Warner (Ewing, NJ / Ewing) followed with 12 points and tied senior
Korin Bradley (Levittown, PA / Bucks County Community College) for a team-high nine rebounds. Freshman
Taylor Hinson (Carney's Point, NJ / Collingswood HS) added 10 points, while freshman
Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire HS) dished out a career-high seven assists.
Cairn will be back in action on Saturday, February 19 when it returns home for its final regular season matchup against conference foe Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday for Senior Day at 1 p.m.
