CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Cairn University women's volleyball team won, 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-15) on the road at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Wilson College on Saturday afternoon, marking their sixth-straight victory. With the win, the Highlanders surpassed their win total of 12 from 2021 in just 15 matches played in 2022.
"We played another great game of team-oriented volleyball this afternoon." remarked Head Coach

"While we came up just short of getting Liv to her 1,000th career assist, our offense was firing on all cylinders and we spread the ball around really well. We're so excited for her to hit that incredible career milestone at home next Wednesday!"
Cairn (13-2, 3-0 CSAC) led 5-4 in the early portion of set, one before igniting an 8-1 run to firmly take commend and claim the set, led by three kills in the frame by fifth-year
Caroline Bennett (Little Silver, NJ / Red Bank Regional).
Cairn carried that momentum into set two, making quick work of Wilson (1-15, 1-2 CSAC) by a score of 25-9. The Phoenix battled in set three, only trailing 19-15 at the midway point, but Cairn put away the match and sealed the sweep by claiming the final six points of the bout.
Cairn was led offensively by senior
Kali Burres-Cheeley (Wanaque, NJ / Hawthorne Christian) with a match-high eight kills to go along with nine digs. Burres-Cheeley was followed by fifth-year
Allison Barnes (Macungie, PA / Salem Christian) with seven kills, while Bennett added six kills to the tune of a .750 hitting percentage with no errors. Sophomore
Caroline Conrad (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) scooped up a match-high 10 digs and tied a career-high with six service aces. Junior
Olivia Zepp (Westminster, MD / Francis Scott Key) dished out a match-high 25 assists. As Coach Seidel mentioned, Zepp is two assists away from becoming the fourth player in program history to achieve 1,000 career assists.
The victory sets up a barn burner in Langhorne on Wednesday, October 12, as the Highlanders welcome Notre Dame of Maryland University (9-6, 3-0 CSAC) to town with first place in the conference standings on the line inside the Mason Activity Center at 7 p.m.
