CLARKS SUMMIT, PA-- The Highlanders overcame two forfeited games and a tough #1 doubles matchup to beat the Clarks Summit Defenders, 5-4.
Having brought just five players to Clarks Summit, Cairn found themselves down 2-0 after forfeiting their sixth singles and third doubles matchups. However, the Highlanders were able to rebound, supported by excellent singles play across their top four men.
Brad Garges fought hard in the #1 singles slot, earning a 7-5, 6-4 victory. Timothy Robinson Jr.,
Max Bruestle, and
Ismael Santana all won their singles matchups as well. The Highlanders needed one win in doubles in order to take the slim 5-4 team victory, and the #2 duo of Timothy Robinson Jr. and
Jake Edwards delivered, earning an 8-2 victory over the Defenders #2 doubles team to give the Highlanders the advantage on the day.
Men's tennis will return to the courts back in Langhorne on April 13th, when they face PSU-Brandywine.
