MEDIA, PA - Cairn was only able to field four players against Penn State Brandywine and lost as a team for the first time this season, 1-8.
Because the Highlanders had to forfeit the #4 and #5 singles and #3 doubles matchups, Cairn found themselves in a 0-3 hole before competition even started. However, the four Highlander men played valiantly against Brandywine and dropped several matches by close scores. The Highlanders' lone win came in the #1 singles slot, where standout
Brad Garges won the first set 6-2 before dropping the second 2-6. The tiebreaking set was a battle between the top two players, with Garges emerging victorious with a 14-12 score.
The Highlanders will look to rebound from this loss when they host the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College on Thursday in Langhorne.
