ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cairn University women's volleyball team had its three-match winning streak snapped by conference favorite Cedar Crest College by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-16) in their regular season finale on Saturday.
In the first set, Cairn (11-13, 6-3 CSAC) jumped out to a quick 5-3 lead, but Cedar Crest (17-5, 9-0 CSAC) proved its worth as the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament, igniting an 8-1 rally to take an 11-6 lead. The Falcons did not trail for the remainder of the set. In set two, the Falcons led 19-12 midway through the set, before the Highlanders tried to steal the set with three-consecutive points to cut the deficit to 19-15. Cedar Crest fended off the Highlanders comeback effort, claiming both of the final two sets by a score of 25-16.
Cairn was led offensively and defensively by freshman
Caroline Conrad (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) who posted team-highs with six kills and 13 digs. Conrad was followed by classmate

Kali Burres (Wanaque, NJ / Hawthorne Christian) and
Lizzy Fay (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) and sophomore
Olivia Zepp (Westminster, MD / Francis Scott Key). Zepp also dished out a team-high 13 assists.
Cairn officially closed out its regular season slate today and has clinched the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament next week. The Highlanders will host the CSAC Quarterfinals for the first time since 2014 inside the Mason Activity Center against the No. 5 seed (still TBD) on Tuesday, November 2.
