DOYLESTOWN, PA- The Highlanders took on Delaware Valley University in their first game back after a lengthy Christmas break. Cairn showed a bit of rust after their nearly month long layoff, and fell to the Aggies 79-52.
The Highlanders played well in the first quarter, but the Aggies mounted a 13-2 run to begin the second quarter and stretch their lead. Cairn battled back in the second half, sharing the ball well as 8 different players scored, but their comeback efforts fell short when Delaware Valley put together a strong fourth quarter to win 79-52.
Dakota Hitchner led the Highlanders with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals, while
Payton Emerick chipped in with 9 points and 6 rebounds.
The Highlanders will seek to get back on track when they play another CSAC matchup this weekend, traveling to take on the Notre Dame (MD) Gators at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon.
