GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA- The Highlanders played yet another hotly-contested match against the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy. Fighting hard over the four sets, but ultimately, dropping the match in the fourth.

After a loss in the first set, the Highlanders stormed to a lead in the second set, thanks in large part to three straight service aces from senior captain
Haley Sheehan to give Cairn a 13-10 lead. The Griffins tied the game up at 16-apiece before
Lyntia Gwess went on a service run of her own, giving the Highlanders a 21-16 lead. With the Highlanders looking set to complete the second set victory, the Griffins mounted an improbable run, scoring 9 of the last 10 points to defeat the Highlanders in heartbreaking fashion. The Highlanders bounced back in a major way, defeating the Griffins with authority in the third set to extend the match. Unfortunately, the Highlanders were unable to complete the comeback, dropping the fourth set.

The Highlanders will be traveling to Eastern Mennonite University and playing three matches his weekend, with one on Friday and two matches Saturday afternoon.
