LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders matched up with an impressive Wesley College squad tonight, and the Cairn women were unable to defeat the Wolverines, falling in straight sets 25-9, 25-12, and 25-12.
The ever-adaptable Highlanders fought hard in tonight's contest, they are currently missing two starters and lost another midway through the second set. Facing shifting positions, and a Wesley Wolverine's team that is currently 10-3, the Highlanders were simply unable to overcome these shortcomings. The first two sets went quickly as Cairn adjusted to a middle playing in the back row and a libero forced to swing, but these resilient Highlanders fought back in the third, taking an early 6-2 lead, and remaining tied after a
Micaiah Randolph ace set the score at 9-9.Â
The Highlanders saw contributions across the board as
Haley Sheehan tallied 6 kills and 7 digs, Randolph and
Kylie McCann each chipped in with a kill and 13 digs, and setter
Liz White finished with 12 assists and 4 digs herself.Â
The Highlanders will be back in action this weekend when they face off against the Cavaliers of Cabrini College at 11 AM.Â
